Summer

Summer is here. Sort of.

Heat. Check.
Sweat. Check.
Mosquitoes. Check.
Swimsuits. Check.
Summer break. Oops.

That's right. I don't know about all of you, but I'm doing school over summer break. We've still got at least 50 more school days to go. What are you doing for summer break? Today my sisters and I went to writing class, for the last time! We did some informal impromptu speeches, ate snacks, and said goodbye to class and classmates in a fun way. Honey, who is our puppy in case you didn't know, is getting extremely big. Everyone who sees her comments on her big paws and says, "She is going to be a moose!" or something like that. "I'm sure she'll be big, sir, but it is not anatomically possible for a dog to become a moose as she gets older."  
"I was just using a figure of... well... never mind." :)
Summer is not my favorite season, but I do enjoy the heat and the swimming and popsicles. And of course the hot summer just makes the cool autumn that much nicer... ;)

I am sorry I haven't been blogging much. It's just that, there's these things I have called priorities, and blogging doesn't belong with that group. Maybe when summer break comes (if ever), then I can post more. Till then, don't expect much. Not that you have anyway, of course. See you guys later!

Summer! How nice to see you!

The season's thoughts turn to summer. The sun gets hotter and clouds of mosquitoes appear. The nice spring flowers shrivel up and die, followed by delicious vegetables. School books are closed for months. Lemonade, ice cream, and popsicles can be found in the fridge, and t-shirts and shorts in the closet. Swim suits come out for an outing in the pool. 

{I love the summer season.}

Even though it gets hot and sunny, and my face gets pink with sunburn, my legs covered with itchy bites, I love everything that spells summer. Catching lightning bugs and eating out on the porch, having water balloon fights and spraying each other with the hose, sweet and fruity treats like popsicles or smoothies, smearing on bug repellent and sunscreen, going to the park and the pool, it's all been a part of summer in Georgia. It's practically the biggest part of the year here. Summer is getting hot and cooling off. Summer is eating watermelon. Summer is a million different things. What is summer to you?

Today I learned how to cut up a pineapple. Fresh pineapple is marvelous!

I got the pattern from Family Fun, and enlarged it. His name is Rover. :D My little brother named him.

5. A very strange sunset

This was a weird one. The sun was in the west, reflecting off of the clouds in the east. It looked like a sunrise. :D It was sort of stormy as well.

Lately it's been hot, humid, and sunny. :P Ugh. I'm sure glad someone invented AC. And I feel so sorry for people whose AC is broken! *Shriek!* They must be dying.

Today my grandma's coming home from a trip. She was visiting her sister. And then this weekend, we are going to my other grandma and grandpa's rental home for the weekend. :D I think it'll be fun!

Summer? and Butterflies

Doesn't it look like winter here? This was a couple days ago, and it was actually pretty sunny and hot. Then it stopped sunny but kept being hot. :P


















This was the same day. See the butterfly? It's sort of blurry because it wouldn't keep still.

Remember the caterpillar? Here is the butterfly. It came out a few weeks ago, on a rainy day. Boy, was it pretty! That's my hand, in the picture.
