I am horrible. *sob*

I just wanted to say, I'm sorry for not posting so frequently, and I will be getting some real posts up soon. Ugh. I've been really busy, especially on weekends, and there's no time to get pictures for posts either. But I promise to do some real blogging, soon.

Grace be with you,

On Hold

Ahem... well... I'm so not winning the Blogger of the Year award.

I'm sorry, everyone. But you know, it's summer, and I'm busy. And to tell the truth...

I'm not sure if I want to blog anymore.

There, I said it. I just don't feel inspired. I'm not sure why, but it's really hard to put a post together. I don't like finding pictures for posts, or trying to put together clever sentences so that people will read my blog and follow it. I'm just tired of the popularity contest, the constant thought, "Hey, I should blog this!" and then not feeling like it, and the comment war. I'm just tired of blogging.

Maybe I'll come back someday. But for now, for the rest of this summer, I'm putting it on hold.

Grace be with you, and have a great week,

Abby :D

The Mindlessly Busy Rut: A Rather Rambly Post

I understand why people aren't looking at my blog much anymore. It's because I've gotten boring. Stale, and unpredictable. That makes sense.
I wish I could have everything figured out in life. Where everything fits: Devotions, school, music, tennis. It's hard to balance all of the busy things that we have to do.
"To the left! Right! Too far! Noooooooo....." as you fall into a deep hole of busyness without any productivity. And as you try to sort it out, blogging gets left on the very bottom as I sink into a daze of mindless internet surfing.
I think it happens to everyone. To me, that's the dreaded curse: Loss of being productive and helpful.
How do I re-balance my stack? I'm not really sure.

But here's my plan.

This idea is from Preparing to Be a Helpmeet.
Quote:
"Start today going up and down the library aisles and plan to introduce yourself to a new subject each week. Or, if you are computer-oriented, spend your time studying vital subjects rather than idly 'surfing'."
End quote

So that's what I will do, to get myself out of this mindless rut. Is there any subjects that you like that you think would be interesting? I would love it if I could get a list.

Expect to hear about the things I'm learning, as soon as I figure out what to learn.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Grace be with you,

Abby :D

Of November and Little Dorrit (and other things besides)

November is here. This is the month of fall changing to winter. It's sort of a dreary cold month. I love how Lucy Maud Montgomery described it in Anne of Avonlea, "November is usually such a disagreeable month... as if the year had suddenly found out that she was growing old and could do nothing but weep and fret over it." But there is a certain charm to it. The way leaves change and fall. The way that you can see the spindly, graceful black frames of trees. The way that the mosquitoes die... :)

Lately we've been watching the 2008 version of Little Dorrit. I love it! The actors did a wonderful job, especially Andy Serkis, who is the villain. He is so creepy! I can almost believe that he is really evil. I won't give away the plot. All I can say is, watch it!
In my Bible reading time, I've been reading  some of the prophets. They're sometimes extremely weird, and I usually have no idea what they are talking about, but they're still really interesting. What have you been reading/watching?

School is going OK. I'm in 10th grade, I think, which seems a bit impossible. I used to be scared of people who were in 10th grade! I'm a little behind in math (still on Algebra 1), but when you're home schooled, it doesn't matter too much. Still doing Latin, but right now, we're mostly learning about the rules of Latin, like 1st person, and singular and plural. Today our new reading curriculum came. It has books like Romeo and Juliet; Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; other classics like that. I'm having to really restrain myself from peeking ahead. :) Piano and bell Christmas recitals abound as well.

As Thanksgiving is coming up soon, here's a list of what I'm thankful for. Yes, rather early and cliche, but it's fun to think of specifics sometimes instead of 'food' and 'health'.

-sleep
-a 'B' on my math lesson
- pigtails (I'm wearing these today, first time in a while)
-the color green
-cute little brothers
-colorful pens
-compliments (always glad for these)
-that God listens to me
-cheerfulness
-November
-new curriculum matieral
-cool breezes
-comments (hint, hint)
-the Bible
-chicken casserole for lunch
-music
-church fellowship
-the great outdoors
-Jesus

Hope everyone's having a wonderful life! What have you been doing lately? I'd be interested to know.

Grace be with you,
Abby :D

ps. I wanted to say thank you to Shelley, who almost never fails to comment on my posts. It's really appreciated!

Our Strawberry Crop

Yum! God has blessed us with some nice sweet strawberries. They are really good with cream and our mom has tried her hand at strawberry lemonade.

What is your favorite way to eat strawberries?

Grace be with you,
Abby :D
