Hi, folks! Ready to go on safari?

Hello! I suppose you're here for the safari. Well, step right onto this bus and we'll get going. Today we'll be taking a tour of Abby's backyard! It's all right, you'll be viewing these perils from the comfort and relative safety of the bus. Here we go!

On this steamy hot day, all the creatures are out and the grass jungle plants are growing big and green.

Sorry folks, it's a bit of a bumpy ride. There are no trails in this jungle grass.

All right, here we are at our next stop... the asparagus bed! Everyone pay close attention.
Look to your right, there it is.
Look very closely... there they are! Do you see them?

The ladybugs!!!! It's all right, sir, we're safe in the bus.

Look at the beady eyes, the crawling legs...

And the most horrible of all, the mandibles of death! AHHHH!!!! AHHHH!!!

*shiver, shiver* Sorry, folks, got a little carried away there. Next, we will be viewing the bees. No need to scream, ma'am. Here we go!

Don't worry folks, it can't hurt you in here.

Watch out for its poisonous stinger and mighty wings!

Of course, there is also the terrible mosquito and the disease-ridden flies. But we don't have time to see those right now. Would you like to see the plants now? All right, let's go!

This is the fire pepper. Don't try it folks, it'll give you heartburn for years.

Watch out for these! They may look like normal tomatoes...

...but they can actually eat you, just like Venus Fly Traps!

This is called the Seed of Death flower. NO! DON'T BLOW IT!

It may look like dandelion, but if you inhale the seeds, you'll get a horrible migraine. No, ma'am, I don't know why they call it the Seed of Death flower. It doesn't kill you.

Well, that's all for today, folks. Here's the drop-off point. Hope you enjoyed the tour of Abby's backyard! Come back soon. Watch your step. All right, bye now!

Finding the Small Joys...

...eating chocolate chips while doing math.
...lying idly in the sun outside.
...holding newborn babies.
...decorating thank-you cards.
...reading (of course).
...eating an extra brownie.
...trying to decide what to do with a pretty notebook.
...doodling on scrap paper.
...finding the perfect sentence for the story you're writing.
...learning something new in the Bible.
...going on a flower hunt. (and here's what I found!)

What small joys have you discovered this week? I'd love to hear!

A Most Amazing Color

Green. How could we live without it? It brightens our day...
...surrounds our flowers...
...represents life...
...shows prosperity...

...and gives us hope.

But best of all, it goes oh-so-well with our bright blue sky! How did God ever think of such an amazing color as green?

By the way, Esther is going to have her MRI and home tomorrow! Hooray!  :D

A Bubble-y Day

Today was a beautiful day, though a bit chilly. So I decided I wanted to take a picture of a bubble, just a bubble, in the sky. :) Sounds purty, don't it? After lots of blowing, popping bubbles, cold arms, and several screaming fits disappointments, I enlisted the help of my sister and came out with these.

Here is the original, no editing.

And this is the edited one.

Which one do you like better?

By the way, my sister is having trouble with Blogger. She can't get it to upload any more photos. Anyone have the same problem? If so, what'd you do about it? Thanks.

A Short Post (otherwise entitled, Two Pictures)

These are some pictures of the sun through the trees. I was experimenting a bit with the lens focus. I think they turned out pretty well, don't you?

Wire snakes, and other things

So we’re finally done with our school year... *sigh*...And now I have no idea what to do! I have no projects! Anyone for suggestions?
I did buy a bead set with some wire and stuff a couple days ago, and I decided to make some wire-and-bead snakes!

A cobra, ready to strike. Sorry, his head's sort of blurry.

This is just your normal, generic, "snake".

I can show you how to make these if you want. :D I also made a rattle snake, but I gave that one away.

Also, I have an ear infection. :P My ears are very itchy as well as painful and plugged. Ugh...I'm taking Colloidal Silver, which is this really disgusting (non-prescription) medicine, plus some garlic ear drops (also non-prescription). I hope it will go away soon. :P

Well, time for lunch. We eat a really late lunch, by most people's opinion. What time do you eat lunch usually?

Gotta go... see ya later.

Thoughts... and people that were me...

Today's weather was so beautiful... blue sky, puffy clouds, and sunshine. I love it! I also saw a few yellow finches on our bird feeder. We had some rain a few days ago, it was welcome after a long day of heat.

We went to the doctor today as well, because we've had a virus. It's either a cold or the hand, foot, and mouth disease that's going around. I only have a sore throat, but my brothers have had on-and-off fevers, too.

We're still not quite done with school yet, we have only a few more days left. I can't wait! We will have a whole month off, which is quite a luxury to me. :D

I'm still reading Psalms in the Bible, because my reading is going unbelievably slowly. I don't know why. It's interesting seeing the sad and happy psalms together.

This is a picture from when I was ten years old.

Here's another one. I was about eight here. This was after VBS, I think. That's Maggie next to me. It's OK to think I look like a weird kid.

I love looking at old photos.

Have a great week!

Summer? and Butterflies

Doesn't it look like winter here? This was a couple days ago, and it was actually pretty sunny and hot. Then it stopped sunny but kept being hot. :P

This was the same day. See the butterfly? It's sort of blurry because it wouldn't keep still.

Remember the caterpillar? Here is the butterfly. It came out a few weeks ago, on a rainy day. Boy, was it pretty! That's my hand, in the picture.

Hope everyone's having a great day!

Happy 4th of July! Happy summer!

Funny Faces with Sam and Joe...

Smile and say cheese! (Sam)

Hee hee! (Sam)

"My lips are sealed." (Joe)

Ha ha! (Joe)

I love these little guys, and personally I think they are the cutest toddlers in the world. I am a bit conceited, though. Do you agree with me?

Oh, and when I get to my hundredth post... hint, hint. :D

Still doughy... have you ever eaten raw dough?

I LOVE chocolate chip cookies! ;D

And here is the cookie I saved for you!

Here are pictures of the cookies we are making. Yum!

Finally! Some photos!

Here are some pictures. I don't usually post photos, but I thought, "Why not?", so here they are.
The first one is my extremely adorable cutie pie brother John (he is so much cuter in real life), and the others are a cloud going over the sun. My personal favorite is the first one. :)
